Forgive. For you.

Remember what it feels like to arrive at the beach? That feeling of relief?

That's what forgiveness feels like.

Neuroscience tells us that when you forgive, the pain circuitry inside your brain becomes quiet, the craving circuitry of revenge becomes quiet, and your self control circuitry activates. Everything is calm and still. You feel relief.

Try it now. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. For a moment, imagine forgiving what happened to you. You don't have to really forgive. Just imagine what it would be like if you did.

Feel the pain washing away? Feel the relief?

Our brains are hardwired to forgive. It's the most powerful form of self-healing we have. And it's free, without a prescription, available anywhere, anytime.

Try it again.

And again.

Whenever the pain returns, just wash it away, like a wave spreading across the surf, smoothing the sand.

Don't stop.

Your brain has everything you need to take away the pain.

This is your secret superpower. An inexhaustible ocean of relief. You don't even need to tell the person who hurt you that you forgive them. You're doing this for you.

Imagine it one more time.

Just forgive.

In times of distress, breathe slowly and repeat this mantra over and over:

I forgive this world for all things done and all things left undone.

I am forgiven for all things done and all things left undone.

Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists.
